Nicolo Zaniolo could return to Italy in the summer with AC Milan interested, but Alvaro Morata does not feel like a genuine target according to one journalist.

Alfredo Pedullà of Sportitalia has provided an update on the future of Zaniolo, confirming that he could well be back in Serie A ahead of next season because the €35m release clause in his contract is negotiable, and therefore around €25-30m could be enough.

Juventus tried concretely last summer, but they did not want to meet Roma’s asking price of €35-40m plus bonuses and so they ended up walking away from the deal, while the Rossoneri tried in January.

Pedulla claims that Zaniolo is ‘a priority for Milan’ and if they were to qualify for the Champions League, they would have to ‘make a sizeable investment’ in the forward department.

Regarding the Alvaro Morata rumours, the journalist claims that he ‘finds it hard to imagine that the striker who scores 20 goals per season, which the Rossoneri need, could be Morata’.
