Pedulla: Arab interest ‘much more than an inquiry’ after four-hour Bennacer summit

This summer, the outgoings will be as interesting as the arrivals for AC Milan, given a number of their high-profile players are the target of interest from Europe and further afield.

When the news broke about a possible sacrifice in the squad, the assumption was that a Rafael Leao or Mike Maignan calibre player would be the one to leave the club, but in the months since, it seems that this will not be the case.

Of course, departures of stars can happen, but it would have to be on Milan’s terms rather than a ‘sacrificial’ deal, so to speak, being made to allow the signings of X, Y, and Z.

However, what did arise from the rumours of a star departure was that a sacrifice could be made, and the player attached to the term was Ismael Bennacer, who has had a difficult few years. Whilst he returned at the end of 2023, he has still not looked the same player he was before the injury, at least not consistently, and interest is high in a player with a worrying injury record.

Stories in recent weeks have strengthened the original reports, and there is a high demand for the midfielder, and the hotspot of it is Saudi Arabia. Reportedly, there is interest from the player in a move, making a deal possible, and Alfredo Pedulla, via his X account, has reported that a four-hour meeting took place recently, and the reported interest is much more than that.

Whilst he did not comment on what more it could be, it leaves little to the imagination, and now, we must wait to see how the situation plays out.
