Pedro Neto will likely miss the World Cup after requiring surgery on an ankle injury.
The Wolves forward sustained the knock during his side’s defeat at West Ham last weekend.
And now it’s been confirmed by BBC Sport that the forward will go under the knife in the coming days.
Rehabilitation will reportedly last for a few months which means that the 22-year-old will be absent for the World Cup in Qatar.
Neto has been ever-present for the Black Country side this season and was expected to play for the Selecao in six weeks time.
Portugal have been drawn in Group H alongside Ghana, South Korea and Uruguay.
