Wolverhampton Wanderers recently sacked their manager Bruno Lage after their miserable start to the new season.

Several names are being linked with the Molineux job, including Pedro Martins.

The 52-year-old was most recently the manager of Olympiacos, who he joined in 2018.

He led the Greek club to three league titles in four seasons but was dismissed in August after a 4-0 defeat to Maccabi Haifa in a Champions League qualifier.

The former Sporting Lisbon boss could soon return to management, with the Express and Star reporting that Wolves are considering a move for him.

Martins is keen to take over the Premier League club as he is familiar with some of the squad and has connections to some board members.

However, Wolves are also considering other names. Ruben Amorim and Julen Lopetegui are reportedly candidates for the job.

Amorim is in charge of Sporting, where he won the 2020-21 Primeira Liga in his first full season. Lopetegui is currently close to being sacked by Sevilla, despite leading them to Europa League success in 2020.

Wolves are currently in the relegation zone after suffering a disappointing 2-0 defeat at West Ham United over the weekend.

However, they spent heavily in the summer transfer window and currently have some excellent players in their squad.

Any manager would love to take over a squad boasting the likes of Ruben Neves, Goncalo Guedes, Adama Traore, Pedro Neto and Joao Moutinho.
