With less than a month left until Pedro’s contract expires with Lazio, the Spaniard has lifted all reservations regarding his future in the Italian capital.

The 35-year-old winger joined the Biancocelesti on a free transfer back in August 2021 after ending a one-year spell with rivals Roma, keen to join up with coach Maurizio Sarri.

Pedro signed a two-year contract with Lazio upon his arrival and as the expiration date has drawn closer, the club have made it clear that they’d like to keep the 2010 World Cup winner in their squad for the coming seasons.

As reported by Alfredo Pedulla, Pedro had some doubts about continuing with Lazio and had considered returning to Spain, but now has dispelled these ideas and would like to stay with the club.

It will be more expensive to renew the 35-year-old’s contract, as the Growth Decree can no longer be used to keep costs down. Despite this, the Biancocelesti want to offer the winger either a new two-year deal or a one-year contract with an option for a second.

Talks are progressing well and Pedro is expected to put pen to paper in the coming weeks, keen to continue his adventure in the Italian capital.

Pedro has proven himself a key part of the Lazio squad and has impressed over the last two seasons, scoring 17 goals and providing 11 assists across 86 appearances.
