One player who definitely made sure to live up to the expectations was Pedri. The youngster is aware of how important Xavi is to the team and to Barcelona as a whole, and his contributions in the game showed a player who was motivated.

Even after the game, he analyzed the match and spoke about some important topics. As highlighted by SPORT, the young ‘Golden Boy’ talked about Xavi, Vitor Roque, and the current situation at the club.

Talking about his coach, he mentioned that the team is going to put everything on the line for him: “Whatever remains, we’re going to give it all for Xavi.”

He then spoke about the victory in general, and how winning against Osasuna was relieving for the team: “This victory feels really good. It was a tough match given our circumstances, coming from a very strange week. The important thing is to keep adding points.”

Speaking about the current situation and complications surrounding Barça, the 21-year-old had the following to say: “It’s not a normal week. It’s complicated, but it’s the coach’s decision. Whatever remains, we’re going to give it our all for him because he has helped us a lot.”

He then talked about how Barcelona would play and put all their efforts for Xavi into the upcoming games as well: “These are the last matches we’re going to enjoy with him as the coach, and we have to go out with more determination and provide him with all possible victories.”

Pedri also spoke about match hero Vitor Roque, who scored within a minute of his arrival into the game: “Vitor Roque brings a lot of intensity and has a goal-scoring ability. He constantly makes runs, and that is crucial. He’s going to contribute a lot to us.”

Asked about the chances of Barcelona still competing for the La Liga title, the Spaniard offered a positive glance at the situation: “The league is complicated, but I have seen worse situations being turned around. The club deserves it.”

Lastly, the Barcelona prodigy spoke about the pressure and criticism of coaching Barcelona. He clearly showed sympathy, but also stated that it is an expectation at the club:

“Being the coach of Barça has to be difficult. Every time a match is lost, criticism comes, but it’s the best club in the world, and you have to know how to handle it.”
