Barcelona have officially changed the name of the Nou Camp after partnering with audio streaming company Spotify.

As part of the agreement between the Spanish team and the Swedish company, Spotify has the rights to become the title partner of the stadium.

Therefore, from now on the stadium will be called the Spotify Camp Nou.

A new mural on its grandstand façade showcases the new name and also features a number of Barca’s male and female stars.

Alexia Putellas, Pedri, Ansu Fati, María León, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Aitana Bonmati are all visible on the mural –– highlighting how Barcelona are seeking to promote both their men’s and women’s teams.

A one-of-a-kind partnership

The deal between Barcelona and Spotify is the first of its kind for the club.

It will continue working on the ambitious plan to restructure the entire stadium, which will see Barca convert some of its facilities and environs into a brand new entertainment experience that will be open to the whole of the city.

Spotify will also be present inside the stadium on the terrace seats and on advertising assets, such as those used in the pressroom and mixed zone.

Moreover, the deal will see the Spotify logo present on the front of the club’s Pro Academies.

Barcelona looking to rebuild

Barca’s men’s team endured a difficult season last year, finishing third in LaLiga and being knocked out of the Europa League in the quarter-finals.

The team was bolstered by the additions of Aubameyang and Ferran Torres in the January transfer window but Xavi’s side will be looking to strengthen further this summer.

Currently, the Catalonian side have been heavily linked with Brazilian winger Raphinha, though Chelsea are also in contention for the Leeds star’s signature.

Raphinha, who scored 11 goals and registered three assists in the Premier League last season, has long been a target for Barcelona. However, there remain questions over whether they can afford the £60 million price tag, as reported by the BBC.

In contrast to the men’s side, Barcelona’s Women stormed to victory in the league last season –– winning all 30 of their games and scoring 159 goals in the process.

Yet, despite their domestic dominance, Barca failed to retain their Women’s Champions League title ––losing in the final to Lyon.

The likes of Alexia Putellas and Aitana Bonmati will be in action for Spain at Euro 2022 this summer.

Spain faces a tough group that also features former finalists Denmark and eight-time European Champions Germany.
