Barcelona closed out a fantastic season with a 3-0 win over Athletic Club, and two key midfielders, Pedri and Gavi, shared their personal journeys and thoughts on the team’s achievements.
After a long spell on the sidelines due to injury, Pedri has shown his importance to the team this season. The midfielder played a major role throughout the campaign and spoke openly about how meaningful this season was for him.
“I had been really looking forward to this season,” said Pedri. “I worked hard during the summer, especially after my injury with the national team.
“I knew I had to be ready, and thankfully, injuries have stayed away. I’ve been able to enjoy what I love most—playing football.”
Pedri also spoke about how being injured changed his perspective. “When you’re not playing, you see the game differently. You learn a lot, and it makes you stronger. Falling down and getting back up helps you grow,” he said.

He pointed to one match as the season’s turning point: “The 4-0 win at the Bernabeu was perfect. That game shaped the rest of our season.”
Pedri made it clear he is not done yet. “I want to keep improving every day, with both Barcelona and Spain. That’s my aim.”
Gavi, who missed much of the season with a serious knee injury, also opened up after the game.
“People don’t always understand how tough this injury is or how much it takes out of you,” said the midfielder.
“But that’s behind me now. I’ve been an important part of all three trophies we’ve won, and I’m proud of that.”
Despite his limited time on the pitch, Gavi felt he made a real difference whenever he played. “Last season, we didn’t win anything. This season has been special, not just for me, but for the whole team.”
He also acknowledged how big this season was for the club. “If we’d won the Champions League, it would’ve been the perfect season.
“Still, winning La Liga, the Cup, and the Super Cup is something that doesn’t happen often. The fans appreciate it, and it will be remembered in the club’s history,” he noted.
