Shabab Al Ahli coach Paulo Sousa feels Inter have the best team in Serie A, but they are followed by city rivals Milan.

Sousa, a former midfielder for Inter and Juventus and an ex-Fiorentina coach, previewed tonight’s game between the Tuscans and the Nerazzuri in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Inter have superior quality in every position. For me, they are the favourites for the Serie A title. They have the best squad, along with Milan,” he said.

“The midfield is at Premier League levels. Inter’s midfielders read time and space well, know how to play short and long, shoot from distance, and get into the box.”

“I wouldn’t want to talk about individuals, but I’ll make an exception for Adli, whom I had at Bordeaux,” said Sousa.

“Back then, I used to say he was a little Zidane, and now he deserves to be happy. He has a tremendous energy. Florence is the right place for him and many others.

“I see a project. Rocco Commisso deserves praise, like anyone who invests in football. He built the training centre and lets the coaches do their job.”

Sousa, who also coached Salernitana in Serie A, refused to rule out a return to Italy.

“Italian football has always had an impact on me, and the best strategists are in Italy,” he said.

“As for returning, I consider Italy home, and I love competing. If there’s a project for me in June, why not? My priority now is winning. I chose Shabab for that reason: I missed it too much.”
