“It was a long and difficult week,” said the Argentine. “Of course, it was a lot of money and so naturally you think about it, I won’t lie, but to make the choice you put many things on the table, not just money.”

“I’ve made a lot of money over the course of my career, and I talked about it with my wife, my mom and my family. I considered many things: them, the possibility of returning to the national team and competing.”

“I am 30 years old and every day I try to work as hard as I can to feel good physically. All these things led me to make this choice and it was confirmed by the affection of my teammates and the fans.”

“De Rossi’s choices? I believe it is right that each of us should earn a spot in the starting line-up. The coach sees during the week what is best for the team. I think that those who are better and with more confidence must play and not being at the center of the project was not a reason why I thought about leaving.”

“The question of modules and schemes is a question for the coach. He makes the technical choices. Just as it is his choice whether I have to play 30 or 40 minutes. These are his decisions. We should all see it that way. There are many guys on the team, including new players and we are trying to get to know each other better.”

“We have already lost 5 points and it already happened to us last year. This week we should see all the mistakes we made and work on them.”
