Sevilla and Roma go head-to-head for European glory on Wednesday, and José Mourinho’s men broke the deadlock thanks to some mind games.
In his pre-match press conference, Mourinho said star man Paulo Dybala would maybe play 20 or 30 minutes, but instead, he started the game.
The decision proved worthwhile, too, as Dybala’s influence almost led to Leonardo Spinazzola’s breakthrough before the Argentina star turned into Roma’s hero.
He split Sevilla’s centre-backs and stayed collected enough to strike from a tough angle past Yassine Bounou for his 17th goal this season.
Sevilla – who have won all six Europa League finals they’ve played – will need to dig deep to turn this around.
Mourinho’s often known for loving those 1-0 scorelines.
