Manchester United picked up a vital three points in their Premier League clash against Norwich City on Saturday afternoon.

The Red Devils had suffered back-to-back poor results prior to the match, form that had seen them lose ground in the race for the top four.

But they returned to winning ways thanks to an inspired Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Portuguese scored a phenomenal hat-trick to drag his side to a much-needed 3-2 victory.

Paul Pogba made his third consecutive start for the Manchester giants.

The Frenchman, who only has a few months left on his contract, was booed throughout by his own fans.

He lasted 73 minutes before making way for Juan Mata.

Shortly before he came off, Pogba needed treatment after being struck by a flying boot in Norwich’s box.

The player who kicked him was none other than Harry Maguire.

United had a corner and Alex Telles swung the ball in.

Maguire jumped for the header but tumbled over a Norwich defender and his boot made contact with Pogba’s face.

Pogba needed treatment but, fortunately, was able to continue.

The three points means United have now leapfrogged Arsenal into fifth, although the Gunners have a game-in-hand.

Ralf Rangnick’s side are now just three points behind Tottenham in the race for the fourth and final Champions League spot.

United’s next two games could define their season.

They travel to Anfield on Tuesday to face a Liverpool side that have been virtually unbeatable in recent times.

They then travel to north London to face Arsenal in what promises to be a fascinating clash next Saturday.
