Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba will make his first competitive appearance for the club since joining them last summer tomorrow against Torino.

Pogba will not start the game but could play a part late on. It will be his long-awaited second debut for the Turin club.

The 29-year-old signed for the Bianconeri on a free transfer last summer following six years at Manchester United, but he has been dealing with injuries.

Massimiliano Allegri confirmed that Pogba would be in the squad for the game against Torino but asked for patience with the midfielder.

He will need time to get up to speed after spending such a long period out of action.

“He’s better – he’ll be called up tomorrow,” Allegri said when asked about the midfielder’s status.

“If there’s a need tomorrow, we’ll put him on. He certainly won’t be able to play a lot of minutes.

“Now to say that Pogba can be a starter for Juventus after 315 days without playing – (Federico) Chiesa, who has been out for ten months, is the same thing. We need a bit of patience.

“I spoke to him like I do with other players. He has to understand that it’s an important part of the season to get back on track. He has to have all the motivation to do good until the end of the season and give us a hand.”

In addition to Pogba and Chiesa, Dusan Vlahovic and Leonardo Bonucci are also available against Torino.

Juventus face a fight to qualify for the Champions League following the 15-point deduction the Italian football federation handed them. They are 12 points off the top four.

They are one point ahead of city rivals Torino and must pick up as many points as possible. Allegri reminded his squad about the importance of tomorrow’s tie.

The club does have the Europa League route to enter the Champions League. They beat Nantes to secure a place in the round of 16, where they will face Bundesliga side Freiburg.
