Ipswich Town boss Paul Cook has admitted to TWTD that the club are waiting to see if they will have Bersant Celina available for their game against Lincoln City tomorrow.

The 25-year-old attacking midfielder re-signed for the club he previously had a stint on loan with this summer and will no doubt be looking to make a lasting impact again in front of the Portman Road faithful.

Celina previously had his pre-season with parent club Dijon interrupted by Covid and pericarditis and as yet has not featured for the Tractor Boys since returning on loan to East Anglia.

Now Cook has provided an update on the player’s availability ahead of their trip to Sincil Bank, as he stated the following:

“Again guys, I can’t go through debating every player, whilst I appreciate more than anyone the fans and the optimism around Bersant being available.

“I understand the question, at the minute it’s probably difficult to give you the correct answer.

“We’re probably waiting on a little bit of red tape, if the truth be known. If the red tape goes well, the reality is Bersant will be on the pitch tomorrow.”

During his last spell for the club, Celina was brought in on loan from his then parent side Manchester City and went on to star in a blue shirt as he racked up an impressive eight goals and one assist in 38 games.

Now as he aims to make his second debut for the club, the Kosovo international will surely be relishing the prospect of running out for Town again.

The Verdict

Celina could well be the man that makes all the difference for Ipswich moving forwards, so therefore it is completely understandable that both the media and the fans are asking about his availability.

It has been a long wait to get to this stage but it now appears that he could finally make his second debut for the club.

Capable of playing in numerous attacking positions, it appears likely that the 25-year-old will either slot in on the left or as a number 10 behind the striker.

The quality that Celina offers should make a massive difference for Town in games that are very closely fought as they look to get their season back on track.
