During the last few years, Paul Aguilar has become one of América’s better players not only for his ability on the right-wing but also for his leadership.
At 34 years old, the Club América captain has come to grips with the fact that his age is a factor and he already finds himself thinking about retirement.
While Aguilar assures that he wants to see his last minutes as a professional wearing the América shirt, he wants to be remembered as one of the most trophy-laden players in Mexican football history.
“I see myself retiring in América, I still have some time left and I want to leave as one of the most successful winners of Mexican football.”
Aguilar has an astounding five CONCACAF Champions League trophies to his name (three at Pachuca, two at América) in addition to four Liga MX wins, the 2006 Copa Sudamericana, the 2007 North American SuperLiga (since abolished), a Copa MX, and the 2019 Campeón de Campeones crown.
With Mexico, the 56-time international won the Gold Cup in 2011 and 2015
