FC Barcelona has a lot of players worth talking about when it comes to standout young talents. La Blaugrana have perhaps always been renowned for this specific thing, but the current state of things is truly a marvel even by their standards. Moreover, the key role that these youngsters are playing at Barcelona this season is also noteworthy.

Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsi are perhaps the most notable additions from the academy to the first team in terms of consistency and importance. Both 17-year-old Barcelona products possess world-class abilities at their young age and are able to standout on fields full of elite football talent.

However, there is always a race to find out the next big revelation after the latest prodigies. That was the case before these two made their debut and it will continue to be the case even when they choose to retire. Yet, perhaps the youngsters of the academy have better insights to provide on the matter as well.

That is why, as highlighted by SPORT, Cubarsi was recently asked to reveal the Barcelona prodigy who he thinks will end up being the next big thing at the club. For the young defender, there was a clear winner in that regard and his answer came rather swiftly:

Quim Junyent.

For many reasons, this name should hardly be a surprising one. The 2007-born midfielder is one of the most exciting talents currently in the Barcelona youth system and he has been labelled as such due to his high-level understanding of the game and the technical prowess he possesses alongside it.

Having started his career at Gimnastic de Manresa, he joined Barcelona in 2016. Since then, he has been gradually making his way from each youth team to the next. He has also played for the Under-17 Spanish side in their category’s FIFA World Cup in the latest iteration of the tournament.

Now, he is often seen being called up by Hansi Flick to train with the first team and he is reportedly a talent who is exceptionally gifted with both feet, excellent at finding the final pass, and also possesses a strong ability to dribble past his opponents.

Likened to Xavi Hernandez by one of his former mentors, he is seen as a player who will have a great future up ahead. For Cubarsi, he seems to be the standout player who has what it takes to become a true sensation at Barcelona in his upcoming future.
