Newcastle United are now thinking about selling Callum Wilson.

That is according to Talksport, who say their information is that with the club willing to sell, the NUFC number nine has West Ham and a number of clubs in Saudi Arabia wanting to buy him.

It feels like after a relatively slow start to the transfer window generally for Premier League clubs, things are starting to get into gear.

This is especially so with those clubs that allegedly have to sell one or more players before the end of June to stay within Premier League PSR (Profit and Sustainability Rules).

Sky Sports reported earlier this month that at least six clubs fell into that category, those clubs being Newcastle United, Forest, Chelsea, Villa, Everton and Leicester.

Deals are now getting done and that especially applies to these clubs named above, with heavy speculation that the likes of Chelsea, Villa, Everton and Newcastle United, could be selling AND buying early in the market, with the specific intention of structuring certain deals to benefit as much as possible where PSR is concerned. Indeed, with deals already done and set to be done, between this small group of clubs, in and out.

No idea if West Ham are a club that is in immediate danger of breaking PSR but they did have troubles scoring goals last season. They managed only 60 Premier League goals and compared to the top seven, the lowest of those were Spurs with 74 goals.

A lot of speculation that Dominic Calvert-Lewin could be set to sign for Newcastle United but even beyond that, something would surely have to happen either way with Callum Wilson and Newcastle. He only has one year left on his current deal, so unless he was offered and signed a contract extension, then surely NUFC would look to offload him and ensure a fee.

The PSR just giving extra weight to this happening.

Indeed, a bit of a pattern building up here with Newcastle United and potential sales this transfer window.

It is squad players who wouldn’t be in the starting eleven with everybody fit next season, who look set to be potentially traded by Newcastle United, to help deal with PSR as well as assisting in bringing in Eddie Howe’s targets.

Callum Wilson, Yankuba Minteh and Elliot Anderson all the subject of outgoing transfer speculation this weekend, rather than the likes of Alexander Isak, Bruno Guimaraes and Anthony Gordon, as our enemies would prefer it to be.
