Patrick Kluivert’s career began in dream fashion, enjoying a spectacular debut season that saw the forward become the youngest ever Champions League final goalscorer.
Kluivert’s winning goal against AC Milan capped an incredible season of success at Ajax, an exciting young side winning the league undefeated before being crowned champions of Europe.
Europe’s leading clubs moved quickly to secure Ajax’s prized possession following their European triumph, with Kluivert spending just three seasons as a first-team regular before moving to AC Milan.
His time in Italy proved short-lived, but a move to Barcelona and reunion with former Ajax boss Louis van Gaal saw Kluivert enjoy the most successful period of his career.
Kluivert developed into one of the finest finishers in European football during six seasons in Catalonia, scoring 122 goals across all competitions and winning the La Liga title in 1998/99.
He formed a brilliant partnership with Rivaldo at the Camp Nou, the duo dovetailing perfectly with Kluivert’s ruthless finishing regularly on show.
So without further ado, here are Patrick Kluivert’s best goals at Barcelona.
