Patrice Evra has revealed that he is a big admirer of England midfielder and Manchester United target Jude Bellingham following a 6-2 win over Iran at the World Cup.

Bellingham not only starred with his performance in the middle of the pitch, but the Borussia Dortmund star got on the scoresheet to open the scoring in an eight-goal affair. His performances this season have earned plaudits from legends across the game, along with comparisons to great players like Bryan Robson.

The latest praise comes from Evra, who said he would love to see Bellingham at Old Trafford in the near future.

Speaking with Rio Ferdinand on Vibe With Five, Evra said: “When I see him playing for Dortmund, I wish he was playing for a club like United. What a player.”

Bellingham has been a long-term target for United since the club missed out on his transfer in 2020 as he left Birmingham City. The youngster decided to move to Germany for first team football and got his wish before establishing himself as one of the league’s brightest talents.

Now, at 19, he is pulling up trees at the World Cup. It has been a sensation rise to prominence for the English youngster and I don’t blame Evra for wanting to see more of that at Old Trafford.

England – and whoever signs him in the summer – has a wonderful talent on their hands.

There’s little to no chance of him staying at Dortmund with the interest that is likely to follow after the World Cup.
