Patrice Evra has revealed he received a personal apology from Liverpool CEO Peter Moore about the way the club handled the Frenchman’s allegation of racism against Luis Suárez.

SuĂĄrez was handed an eight-match ban after he was found guilty of using racist language towards Evra when Liverpool faced Manchester United back in 2011.

Liverpool wore t-shirts in support of the Uruguayan striker while warming up for a game against Wigan and speaking back in October last year, former Reds defender Jamie Carragher admitted the Merseyside club “got it massively wrong”.

And while working as a Sky Sports pundit ahead of United’s trip to Anfield on Sunday, Evra revealed that he recently received a letter from Moore apologising for the incident.

“I received a personal letter from Peter Moore,” said Evra.

“He said he hopes it’s never too late. Now I see it’s real honest people working for this club.”
