Patrice Evra has revealed he received a personal apology from Liverpool CEO Peter Moore about the way the club handled the Frenchmanâs allegation of racism against Luis SuĂĄrez.
SuĂĄrez was handed an eight-match ban after he was found guilty of using racist language towards Evra when Liverpool faced Manchester United back in 2011.
Liverpool wore t-shirts in support of the Uruguayan striker while warming up for a game against Wigan and speaking back in October last year, former Reds defender Jamie Carragher admitted the Merseyside club âgot it massively wrongâ.
And while working as a Sky Sports pundit ahead of Unitedâs trip to Anfield on Sunday, Evra revealed that he recently received a letter from Moore apologising for the incident.
âI received a personal letter from Peter Moore,â said Evra.
âHe said he hopes itâs never too late. Now I see itâs real honest people working for this club.â
