Striker Alexandro Pato has revealed that he is still dreaming of a potential return to AC Milan, flirting with the idea of forming a partnership with Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Milan fans would be forgiven on looking back at Alexandre Pato’s career at the club with somewhat mixed feelings. The Brazilian burst onto the scene having joined the Rossoneri from Internacional in 2007, and he amassed 150 appearances for the club across all competitions, scoring 63 goals and adding 18 assists.

However, the general consensus is that – due to a combination of factors – the 30-year-old never reached his full potential during his six-year stint at the San Siro.

Interviewed by the La Gazzetta dello Sport, however, Alexandre Pato expressed his love for the club once again and confirmed that he is dreaming of another crack at playing for the Rossoneri, insisting he would not mind playing second fiddle to Ibrahimovic.

“Nostalgia for the Rossoneri times? Of course, how could I not have it. We are talking about 150 games, 63 goals, a Scudetto and a Super Cup. It would be a dream to be able to return to Milan, which is in my heart,” he said (via MilanNews).

“If I would accept the role of deputy Ibra? I would say yes, what’s the problem? But simply because I wouldn’t come to be deputy: I would play, a couple of matches would be enough to convince me the coach [laughs]. No, come on, let’s say that maybe I could play together with Ibra… we would be a great couple.”
