Sheffield Wednesday travel to Portman Road this Saturday for a hugely important fixture against Ipswich Town at the top of League One.

Darren Moore’s side were 1-0 winners against Plymouth Argyle in their last league game, moving to the top of the division on goal difference.

After getting the better of one automatic promotion rival last weekend, the focus is on doing the same to Ipswich, who enter the weekend third and needing to beat the Owls to keep them within touching distance at the top.

Looking at Sheffield Wednesday, after such a key win last weekend against Plymouth, it’s hard to imagine Moore changing too much beyond Callum Paterson, who picked up a long-term injury in his match-winning outing.

As our graphic above shows it’ll be Cameron Dawson in goal, behind a back-three of Dominic Iorfa, Aden Flint and Liam Palmer. Marvin Johnson should be at left wing-back, with Jack Hunt replacing Paterson on the right.

A midfield trio feels likely to continue given the importance of this game: Barry Bannan, Will Vaulks and George Byers.

That means that it’s a straight two-man attack rather than a No.10 and two strikers. Josh Windass and Michael Smith are a combination that offer Moore a good mix of attributes.

Rory McArdle?

A win will help Wednesday retain their place at the top of the table, albeit with a nine-point gap over Ipswich.
