The agent of Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo was at Arsenal's London Colney training centre yesterday.

Goal says the Gunners have made progress, with technical director Edu sitting down with Arthur's representative in north London.

It is claimed that Federico Pastorello travelled to Arsenal's London Colney training base and arrived on Wednesday afternoon for the meeting.

Arsenal hope to take Arthur on-loan from Juventus to June with the option for a permanent transfer.

Meanwhile, La Gazzetta dello Sport says an 18-month arrangement would mean the Italian giants have a bigger chance of enticing a replacement.

The six-month deal which Arsenal want comes with a level of uncertainty, with Juventus understandably concerned that a midfield player may be reluctant to join them if Arthur is guaranteed to return after such a short space of time.
