Arsenal and Bayern Munich have plenty of history in the Champions League and they’re adding to it tonight with a brilliant start to their quarter-final first leg at the Emirates Stadium.

Much of the talk in the build up was about the return to North London of Harry Kane, but he was quickly upstaged by his international teammate Bukayo Saka who curled home a stunning strike past Manuel Neuer after some neat interplay, mainly from Ben White.

The goal sent the Emirates into a frenzy, and made it eight goal contributions in eight Champions League game this season for the 22-year-old – a fourth goal to match his four assists.

Their joy lasted little over five minutes as Bayern struck back through Serge Gnabry, who came back to haunt his former club with a smart finish from inside the box after equally good build up from the Bavarians.

All in all, not a bad way to mark a first Champions League quarter-final at the ground in 14 years!
