Speaking to TF1 in the aftermath of France’s rampant 14-0 victory against Gibraltar in EURO 2024 qualifying, Kylian Mbappé was asked if Les Bleus can win EURO 2024. France had already qualified for the tournament in Germany before the match against Gibraltar, but their historic victory secured their place as winners of their qualifying group.

When asked if France can win EURO 2024, Mbappé replied: “Win? I don’t know but we are going to try and win. Since I arrived, I always wanted to win and that is not going to change now I am captain”. The France captain added, “It’s up to us to win and there are some great teams but you’ll never hear me say as long as I am wearing this jersey that I am not wanting to win. Participating is not my thing.”

The 24-year-old has clear ambitions as he leads his country at the upcoming EURO 2024. Mbappé has been in fine form for his country since he was named captain by Didier Deschamps and Les Bleus’ latest match against Gibraltar was no different. The PSG attacker scored a hat trick to reach 300 career goals and also assisted a further two goals during what was a historic night for himself and Les Bleus. Mbappé’s hat trick takes him to 46 goals in a France shirt.
