Benjamin Siegrist has admitted he had very little thinking to do in relation to his move to Celtic.

The Swiss goalkeeper signed for the Bhoys during the week as his four-year contract at Dundee United comes to an end.

While the 30-year-old had offers from clubs who could have guaranteed him a first-team place, Siegrist couldn’t resist the challenge of trying to dislodge Joe Hart from between the sticks at Parkhead.

“Celtic needs no introduction. It doesn’t matter which corner of the world you are, people know about Celtic,” Siegrist said, per the Glasgow Evening Times.

“It was a great impression playing here for the first time. It was a great impression competing, seeing the fanbase.

“That is exciting because I am part of it now but I think a player does not choose Celtic, I think Celtic chooses them.”
