Kylian Mbappe shined in the absence of Neymar, as the French forward scored one and assisted another to help Paris Saint-Germain win yet another French Cup win with a 2-0 victory over AS Monaco, on Wednesday at the Stade de France.

Mbappe got over Axel Disasi in the 18-yard box and set Mauro Icardi up for the opening goal in the 19th minute, after a dismal pass from goalkeeper Radoslaw Majecki.

With Neymar out due to suspension, Kylian was able to show his superiority, with his talent and was able to add the second goal in the 81st minute, following Angel Di Maria short through ball into the part of the World Cup winner. He was calm enough to chip the ball over Majecki to make it 2-0.

The goal came minutes after Mbappe had hit the woodwork following a clever chip from outside the penalty area having spotted Majecki off his line. It was a spectacular chance missed and that would have been marked as a wonder goal if it had gone in.

PSG retain their title and extended their win for the domestic cup to 14, a record number of wins in the French Cup. While Monaco on the other hand have won the cup on five previous occasions, with their most recent win coming in 1991.

Both clubs will now focus their attention to their last fixture of the season, with PSG hoping for a miracle in other to win the league title yet again this season, with one point behind leaders Lille. Elsewhere, Monaco are three points adrift Lille.
