Paris Saint-Germain have reached an agreement with Corinthians for the transfer of Gabriel Moscardo, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Ligue 1 champions will pay an initial fee of €20 million plus a further €2m in add-ons to sign Moscardo, who is expected to land in Paris soon to finalise his move.
Since returning from an injury lay-off back in August, Moscardo has established himself as a first-team regular having featured in 18 of a possible 20 matches.
He led his side in tackles per game, while also finishing second in interceptions per game and successful dribbles per game during the recently-concluded Brasileiro season where Corinthians finished 13th despite picking up six of the last nine points available.
Moscardo is one of two Brazilian rising stars currently on their way to Parc des Princes with Lucas Beraldo also set to sign for PSG from Sao Paulo.
Off the back of a huge summer spree which saw them splash the cash on Randal Kolo Muani and Ousmane Dembele, PSG are keen to reinforce their squad even further for the second half of what has been a relatively underwhelming campaign.
Luis Enrique’s men sit top of the Ligue 1 table with 40 points picked up from 17 matches, five points clear of nearest challengers OGC Nice.
However, they have been far from convincing on several occasions this term, especially on the continental front.
Les Parisiens just about managed to scrape a place in the last 16 of the Champions League and will face Real Sociedad in the first knockout round of Europe’s premier club competition.
With the top tier of French football currently on a winter hiatus, PSG are next in action on January 3 when they play host to Toulouse in the final of Trophee des Champions.
