Lyon are back in domestic action in Division 1 Feminine this weekend off the back of a decent Champions League showing against Zurich on Thursday night.

The reigning French champions, while still top of the table back home, have struggled against the weight of an enormous injury list this season.

It showed in their Champions League games against Arsenal (lost) and Juventus (drew), as well only securing only narrow 1-0 wins over Fleury 91 and Le Havre either side of a goal-less draw with Guingamp. Only one of their D1F wins at this stage of the season has been by more than two goals, while three of their seven victories have been by just a single goal.

Now, Sonia Bompastor's team face their toughest D1F game so far as they head to the capital to face a Paris FC side that is among only three remaining unbeaten teams alongside Lyon and PSG.

Paris have won five from eight league games in 2022/23 and are just four points behind Lyon.

Lyon team news

Amandine Henry has been ruled out of action for the next few weeks following a muscle problem suffered against Le Havre last weekend.

Eugenie Le Sommer made her first start since missing two games with injury in the midweek win over Zurich. Selma Bacha also returned to action off the bench in that one, as did Dzsenifer Marozsan, who had been out since April with an ACL injury.

Signe Bruun will be hoping she has built some momentum from Zurich after finally scoring her first goals of the season since returning from a disappointing loan at Manchester United.

Lyon were still without Ada Hegerberg, Griedge Mbock, Sara Dabritz, Ellie Carpenter and Damaris Egurrola in Switzerland.

Paris FC vs Lyon score prediction

Lyon have been just getting by this season, which is perhaps understandable in the circumstances. The return of Marozsan is a boost, but she is lacking match fitness after seven months out, while the sudden loss of Henry is a fresh problem that Bompastor won't relish.

Given that Paris have enjoyed a decent start to the season and are at home, they could cause a problem here. Lyon will even have the added pressure of potentially being overtaken in the D1F table before they play if Paris Saint-Germain beat Guingamp at home on Saturday as expected.
