The involvement of Fabio Paratici in Tottenham’s move for Cristian Romero has alerted authorities in Juventus’ latest case around financial irregularities and capital gains.

This comes from La Gazzetta dello Sport, who state that the deals involving Merih Demiral and Romero has specifically caught the eye of investigators. The authorities are looking at the presence of a non-federal obligation given to Atalanta in the deal, especially since there has been no clarity given to the media about how Demiral joined La Dea from Juventus after the Bergamo club sold Romero after having on loan.

Romero, a 23-year-old Argentine defender, was bought by Juventus in July 2019 from Genoa for €26 million euros but he never played for the Bianconeri. Atalanta were said to have signed him for €16 million – a figure which was previously agreed and Spurs signed him for €50 million when Paratici became their DOF.

The involvement of Paratici has specifically alerted investigators because he was the one to essentially make all those deals possible.
