At 34 years old, you can’t blame Antony Silva for pursuing all available options before his career comes to a close.
According to multiple reports, the experienced Silva is set to leave Cerro Porteño to pursue a life in Major League Soccer.
While no specific team was mentioned, a 90min.com article from last month stated Silva could move to NYCFC.
Silva will look elsewhere to play first-team football this season as former River Plate, Inter Milan, and Lazio goalkeeper Juan Pablo Carrizo has joined Cerro Porteño from Monterrey.
Silva is fresh off an APF Gold Glove award for being the best goalkeeper in Paraguay’s top-flight.
The 25-time capped goalkeeper is still Paraguay’s number one goalkeeper and nearly led Cerro Porteño to a massive upset over Palmeiras in the Copa Libertadores round-of-16 this past season.
