The international break is finally behind us and club football returns today for Barcelona. And, as fate would have it, it’s an incredibly difficult clash against none other than Atlético Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano stadium.
This morning’s papers are, unsurprisingly, focusing on the match. SPORT are calling it the ‘supertest‘ as they believe it’s Ronald Koeman’s chance to prove his worth and for the team to make a stand in La Liga.
The Azulgranas will have to face the Rojiblancos without Sergio Busquets and Ansu Fati but their opposition have absences of their own, including Luis Suárez who’s recently tested positive for COVID-19.
Mundo Deportivo, on the other hand, are more concerned with Koeman’s recent interview. The Dutch gaffer was asked about Lionel Messi once again, which he didn’t exactly appreciate.
Other than that, he also seems very unhappy with Barcelona’s congested schedule, seeing how they’ve got a late clash tonight and then have to play again on Tuesday.
Next week is, of course, the European week again so the teams won’t exactly have much time to rest. Rotation, for that reason, might be key.
