The 2022/23 Papa John’s Trophy has moved a step closer to starting following a draw which confirmed the Groups and key dates for the competition.
This competition is great as it involves all the sides in League One and League Two, and also academy sides from the Premier League.
These academy sides from the Premier League are invited to take part by the EFL and it shows the football fan base how good some of these youngsters are.
There are no teams from the Championship involved, and this Papa John’s Trophy is a huge chance for sides from League One and League Two to lift a trophy.
The sides in these two divisions will also be involved in the 2022/23 Carabao Cup First Round Draw taking place later today (Thursday 23rd June at 2:30 PM BST).
