MEXICO CITY – Club América Femenil won 5-nil against Santa Fe FC in Group B of the 2024/25 Concacaf W Champions Cup on Thursday at Estadio Ciudad de los Deportes in Mexico City, Mexico.
Karen Luna broke the deadlock in the 27’, shooting a right-footed shot to the bottom left corner.
Sarah Luebbert doubled the advantage in the 43’, getting past the Santa Fe defense to send the ball to the right corner of the net.
Kiana Palacios got her name on the scoresheet in the 52’, shooting with her right foot.
Palacios got her brace in the 57’ with a right foot first touch volley, the fourth goal of the game and her third in the tournament.
Summer signing Rebekah Valdez got her first goal as an Águila in the W Champions Cup, pouncing on a rebound inside the box in the 70’.
Santa Fe will play their fourth and final match in Group B against Portland Thorns on October 1 at Providence Park in Portland, Oregon, USA.
América Femenil will look to continue its winning ways against the San Diego Wave on October 16 at Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego, California, USA.
