Manchester United’s nine-game winning streak came to an end on Wednesday evening as they drew 1-1 with Crystal Palace.

The Red Devils looked as if they would make it 10 wins in a row when Bruno Fernandes opened the scoring in the 44th minute.

But United failed to add to their lead and they were pegged back in stoppage-time.

Palace were given a free-kick some 30 yards and Michael Olise restored parity with a superb effort that crashed off the underside of the bar and into the net.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s superb goal-saving tackle on Wilfried Zaha

There were chances for both sides to win it in the dying embers of the match.

It looked as if Palace may snatch a dramatic late winner when Wilfried Zaha raced towards United’s goal.

But he was denied by a quite epic goal-saving tackle by his former teammate, Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Wan-Bissaka chased down the Ivorian winger and produced a perfect slide-tackle to scoop the ball away from danger and deny Zaha.

The final whistle blew shortly after and the two sides were forced to share the spoils.

Zaha spoke to Sky Sports after the match.

And he gave a brilliant answer when asked about Wan-Bissaka’s goal-saving challenge.

Zaha said: “Any other player [I would have got away from]. As I was running through, I had a little look back and thought, ‘Oh my God, it’s Aaron!’

“He is the only one that can do that scoop tackle. Yes, it was a great tackle.”

He added: “That was the difference today – just never-say-die attitude and every 50-50 going in at 100 per cent. We got what we deserved. We might have even won at the end.

“That performance today, the fans deserved that. I’m buzzing with the lads really, like we all worked so hard today.

“Obviously we’re happy with the point and it just gives us confidence going into the next games.”
