Hertha Berlin have confirmed the appointment of Pál Dárdai as coach for a third time in four years.

Dárdai, 47, was installed as Sandro Schwarz’s successor on Sunday with the club firmly rooted to the foot of the Bundesliga.

The Hungarian spent the final 14 years of his playing career at the Olympiastadion before taking charge of his former club on two prior occasions in 2015 and 2021.

“Everyone knows of my connection to Hertha BSC, which is why I didn’t need long to make a decision when the call came,” said Dárdai.

“There are six games left, with potentially two more on top, and I will give everything along with the team to make sure that the club stay in the Bundesliga.

“It won’t be easy, but I’m looking forward to it.”

Die Alte Dame will be hoping that third time is a charm in their battle to beat the drop!
