The Old Gold moved up to eighth in the table following their three points against 20th placed Sheffield United, Pablo Sarabia’s first half header was the difference between the sides. The Blades had opportunities through Rhian Brewster but could not find the net.

Wolves started the game with intent, with chances coming through Pedro Neto and Pablo Sarabia within the first 15 minutes. However, Wolves struggled to get the ball in the back of the net.

Sheffield United provided an attacking threat through Rhian Brewster, when a long throw from Jack Robinson was deflected off Craig Dawson into the Englishman who struck the ball on the half-volley, but Jose Sa was there to parry it away.

Brewster had a huge chance to break the deadlock in the 22nd minute, when Bogle beat Rayan Ait-Nouri to a header which played Brewster through on goal. One-on-one with the keeper, his shot couldn’t find the target.

The Blades continued their counter-attacking threat, when James McAtee broke free from the Wolves defence and one-on-one with Sa but the Portuguese international did well to deny his attempt in the 28th minute.

Just two minutes later Wolves finally broke the deadlock. Rayan Ait-Nouri’s cross found Pablo Sarabia unmarked inside the area. Where the Spanish attacker found the top corner with a glanced header.

Wolves had more chances before half-time through Pedro Neto and Sarabia.

However they could not find the target.

After the break the blades started strong. Anel Ahmedhodzic came close, but his attempt was blocked by Craig Dawson in the 47th minute.

Brewster was provided another opportunity in the 58th minute, with the striker stretching to get on the end of a McAtee cross however Sa saved his attempt comfortably.

Pablo Sarabia had a long-range shot just seven minutes later; his effort was just wide of the post.

In the 77th minute, Vini Souza went down injured with a cramp. Ivo Grbic tried to kick the ball out of play but it fell into the path of Pablo Sarabia who did the visitors a favour by kicking the ball out of play, rather than putting it into an empty net to the annoyance of the home supporters.

The Blades provided more threat within the last ten minutes with a series of corners, but the hosts defended well.

Jack Robinson’s throw caused serious problems for the Wolves defence in the 87th minute, but no one was there to meet the ball at the back post.

Wolves defended well in the final minutes to earn three points.

Next up, Wolves will face Brighton & Hove Albion midweek in an FA Cup fifth-round clash at the Molineux.

Meanwhile, the Blades will face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
