Pablo Longoria rules out appointing Massimiliano Allegri as Marseille manager | OneFootball

With Jean-Louis Gasset’s interim spell coming to an end at the end of the season, Olympique de Marseille will once again be in the market for a manager this summer. However, one man who won’t be replacing Gasset is Juventus’ Massimiliano Allegri.

It is expected that Allegri, one year before the expiry of his contract with Juventus, will leave the Turin-based club at the end of the season. The Italian will therefore be looking for another role elsewhere but he won’t be arriving at the Vélodrome. “I respect Max a lot, but for Marseille, he is too expensive,” OM president Pablo Longoria told Gazzetta dello Sport.

L’Équipe understands that Lille OSC manager Paulo Fonseca is the favourite for the role or at least Marseille’s priority for the managerial position. However, Les Phocéens aren’t the only ones interested in the Portuguese manager with West Ham United and AC Milan also reportedly keen. Porto’s Sergio Conceiçao and RC Lens’ Franck Haise are also reportedly targets for Marseille this summer.
