Excitement is building around the potential debut of the Red’s new signing, Federico Chiesa and fans are eager to see how the Italian winger will fit into an already potent attacking lineup.

On the other side, Forest, unbeaten in the Premier League campaign thus far, are coming into the match with quiet confidence.

To find out more, we spoke to former Nottingham Forest striker, Jason Lee, for our latest Oppo Preview show.

“I think the club should be really proud of themselves,” he stated, “the club is optimistic and we want to keep progressing year in, and year out. Slowly, but surely, the squad has improved and the quality has got better.”

Jason reflected on the team’s strategy, noting how they have built a stronger squad over time and that this gradual development has contributed to their solid start, with the goal now being to build momentum throughout the season.

When asked about the key players that Liverpool should be wary of, Jason explained that “Chris Wood can score goals!”

He also pointed out the speed that Forest has up front, particularly with Anthony Elanga and Morgan Gibbs-White, who “provide a lot of pace going forward.”

One player that has been the subject of transfer speculation is Murillo, the young Brazilian defender.

Jason sang his praises stating: “He is very strong, well-balanced, and technically good. He takes risks with his passing sometimes, and definitely offers something different.”

The former striker also made an important note that he believes Murillo needs another season with Forest to “Really develop his skills.”

Discussing the approach ahead of the Anfield visit, Jason stressed the importance of caution.

“The club has got a great history and Nottingham Forest has always been competitive. We need the fans to get behind the team which they’ve always done – very excited!”

“However, you need to be a bit more cautious. If you go there and open the game up too early, you can get punished, and the game will be over before you know it.”

He also shared insights into Forest’s manager, Nuno’s tactics, claiming that he will likely be utilising their mobile front three or four players and looking to hit Liverpool on the counter.

When asked for his prediction, Jason was optimistic about Forest’s chances, forecasting a draw as it would really help with the club’s confidence.

Nevertheless, a win is the only result the Reds will look to gain at home, coming off the back of a triumphant win at Old Trafford!

It is safe to say that Arne Slot has firepower and his boys look frightening!
