Newcastle United won again to move within striking distance of the FA Women’s National League Northern Premier Division title.

NORTHERN PREMIER DIVISION

Derby County 1-1 Nottingham Forest (Att: 2,289) Huddersfield Town 0-2 Wolverhampton Wanderers (Att: 79) Newcastle United 5-1 Liverpool Feds (Att: 4,256) Stoke City 1-1 Halifax Stourbridge 0-4 Burnley (Att: 149) West Bromwich Albion 1-0 AFC Fylde

Over 4,000 saw Newcastle United defeat Liverpool Feds to move within three points of becoming champions, with three games left. Second-placed Nottingham Forest were held 1-1 by Derby County in front of over 2,000 at Pride Park.

Third-placed Burnley scored four at Stourbridge, Wolves went fourth with victory at Huddersfield, Stoke were held by Halifax and West Brom left it late to beat Fylde, Phoebe Warner’s 90th-minute corner headed home by Jess Reavill.

SOUTHERN PREMIER DIVISION

Billericay Town 0-2 Oxford United (Att: 104) London Bees 1-2 Plymouth Argyle (Att: 69) Milton Keynes Dons 0-0 Portsmouth Rugby Borough 1-0 Ipswich Town Chatham Town 0-3 Cheltenham Town Hashtag United 3-1 Cardiff City LFC (Att: 62)

Hashtag United saw off Cardiff City Ladies despite being pegged back 1t 1-1, to make sure they stayed in their title race. MK Dons became only the second side to take points off Portsmouth but four points from four games should be sufficient for Pompey to clinch the title.

Rugby Borough’s Jess Camwell got the only goal in the game with Ipswich Town, Oxford United took the points 2-0 at Billericay. Plymouth overturned an interval deficit to win at London Bees, Ellie Sara getting the 78th-minute decider to put them ninth, Cheltenham rose to seventh with the win at Chatham.

DIVISION 1 MIDLANDS

Sporting Khalsa sank Lincoln City 7-1 in staying top, Loughborough Lightning kept the pressure high with a second-half winner at Sutton Coldfield. Peterborough came from 3-1 down to win at Solihull, Northampton also won away, while Notts County defeated Leek to leapfrog them into ninth spot.

DIVISION 1 NORTH

Middlesbrough’s narrow win at basement side FC United meant they stayed top but Hull City are still well-placed following Shakala Brookes winner against Stockport. Barnsley WFC and Durham Cestria both fell further behind after draws against Leeds and Doncaster respectively. Norton’s Cara Milne-Redhead grabbed a 93rd-minute winner at York.

DIVISION 1 SOUTH EAST

Chesham United 1-5 AFC Sudbury (Att: 43) London Seaward 4-2 Cambridge City Queens Park Rangers 4-4 Ashford Town (Att: 178) Worthing 2-0 Cambridge United AFC Wimbledon 2-2 Norwich City (Att: 625)

The top two drew 2-2 as AFC Wimbledon preserved their lead over Norwich City, who scored twice in added time through Holly Kennard and Shannon Shaw.  Worthing are now second after beating Cambridge United, QPR rescued a point at home to Ashford Town, even though they had been 4-1 down.

DIVISION 1 SOUTH WEST

Bridgwater United 3-0 Southampton Women (Att: 67) Portishead Town 0-7 AFC Bournemouth (Att: 42) Selsey 0-11 Exeter City (Att: 63) Swindon Town 0-1 Moneyfields (Att: 91) Torquay United 2-3 Maidenhead United

Eleven-goal Exeter City held their eight-point advantage over 7-0 winners AFC Bournemouth, who have two games in hand. Moneyfields won at Swindon Town to close in on the fourth-placed side, Bridgwater are up two places to fifth, there was a narrow defeat for Torquay in their bid to escape the drop zone.
