Over 24,000 tickets have been sold for Saturday’s derby between Roma and Lazio, even though no fans will be allowed inside the Stadio Olimpico.

As reported by Italian media outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi earlier today, the tickets were sold as part of an initiative by the Giallorossi’s non-profit organisation ‘Roma Cares’.

The initiative allows Roma fans to purchase tickets, costing only €2, to any sector of the stadium to support ‘A Scuola Tifo’, an educational project aimed at Italian schools looking to educate children in mutual respect, tolerance and using sport to bring people together.

In addition, anyone who purchases a ticket as part of this scheme will receive a shirt sent to their home, part of a set prepared by Roma for the derby, as well as being entitled to a discount voucher.

Italian stadiums are not expected to allow fans inside until next season, with the Covid-19 pandemic slowly coming under control thanks to the introduction of the vaccines.
