Tottenham outcast Danny Rose eyeing a move abroad amid PL interest

According to The Sun, Tottenham Hotspur defender, Danny Rose is ready to snub interest from West Bromwich Albion in favour of a transfer abroad in the ongoing transfer window.

The 30-year-old has been frozen out of the first-team picture at Tottenham Hotspur. Rose was left out of the club’s Premier League and UEFA Europa League squads for this season. In fact, the English left-back wasn’t even given a shirt number for the 2020/21 term.

Since the summer, Rose has been training with the reserve team and has even featured a couple of times in the Premier League 2. The former Leeds United man’s contract with Tottenham runs out at the end of the season and could be cancelled by mutual consent this month.

Rose’s situation has put West Brom manager Sam Allardyce on high-alert, who is keen on landing the 29-time capped England international. However, Rose is also courting interest from clubs in Germany and Spain. And it is claimed that the left-back would favour a move abroad on a short-term basis in order to revive his career.

Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho was asked about the defender’s future at the club. The Portuguese did give much away in his response, though.

“I don’t know. Honestly, I don’t know. Working with the U23s and playing sometimes with them and well, the couple of times I watched him. Good contribution for the kids’ team and for the kids’ development, but I don’t know what’s going to happen in the market.”
