Andreas Pereira willing to leave Manchester United in the upcoming summer

Speaking to Eleven Sports (h/t The Daily Mail), Andreas Pereira has revealed that he is ready to call it quits at Manchester United this summer.

The Brazilian has been at the club for seven years now. He is yet to lock down a starting position and it is fair to say that his opportunity to do so has flown by.

Currently, on a season-long loan at Serie A giants Lazio, Pereira’s luck has experienced scant improvement. He has so far scored a solitary goal and made four assists in 30 appearances for the Italian giants. (h/t Transfermarkt)

With Lazio left unimpressed, the chances of them making the deal permanent is remote. As things stand, Pereira looks set to return to Old Trafford at the end of the season.

His time under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has shown little to suggest he is a part of the Norwegian’s plans. At an age where he should be playing regularly, Pereira is ready to start afresh elsewhere to make it happen.

“I will not close the door on any club.”

The Brazilian has emerged as a target for Belgian giants Anderlecht. Currently managed by Manchester City legend Vincent Kompany, they could offer Pereira the stage he is looking for.

“If it is something positive that fits with my own ideas, then why not?”

A clean slate?

The player for his part is open to the move and has admitted that regular playing time is a key factor in his decision. He still harbours hopes of playing for Brazil and playing regularly is a step in the right direction.

“The main thing is that I want regular playing time. So if Vincent Kompany was to phone me, or a club such as Club Brugge, it would depend on what kind of project they put forward, and what they have in mind.”

Pereira still has two years to go on his current deal at United. The Red Devils value him at £21million, a price they will be lucky to get given his recent performances.

Having joined from PSV Eindhoven in 2014, Pereira failed to build upon the initial promise he showed at the club. Winner of the prestigious Denzel Haroun Reserve team Player of the Year in 2015, things have gone downhill for the Brazilian.

Pereira has made just 75 appearances for the Red Devils in all competitions, scoring just four goals and making five assists. (h/t Transfermarkt)
