It’s no secret that Ousmane Dembélé has struggled to start his tenure with Paris Saint-Germain. The 26-year-old has zero goals and assists in five appearances in all competitions for the capital club.

Nonetheless, PSG manager Luis Enrique liked what he saw from the Frenchman in the 2-0 win over Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday at the Parc des Princes. Enrique adds that the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner is one that he would pay to see.

“If I were a supporter of a team, I would pay to see Ousmane Dembélé,” Enrique told reporters postgame (h/t Culture PSG). “He’s a totally different player. He is unpredictable, overflows, [and] works magic.

“It’s true that he may have missed things and didn’t score his first goal, but the day that happens, I’m sure he’ll score a lot later. This happens to all attackers. It’s wonderful for a coach to have a player of this quality and level available.”

Dembélé receiving words of encouragement from the Spanish manager is a moral booster. Eventually, the winger should see the goals and assists on the stat line soon. Enrique likely wants to praise the player when his confidence is low and high.

The former FC Barcelona forward will have another chance to record his first goal or assist in the latest installment of Le Classique. If Dembélé wants to break his drought, he could pick no bigger game than against Olympique Marseille on Sunday at the Parc des Princes.
