Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembélé has been hit with a hefty fine by the German government for trashing his old house.

Dembélé joined Barça from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2017 in a deal worth a reported €145m.

And according to Firstpost, the 21-year-old has now been fined €10,000 for leaving a house he rented in the German city in poor condition.

“The house was a dustbin,” Dembélé’s old landlord is quoted as saying.

Rubbish “was in every room”, he added.

The fine includes unpaid rent arrears and was actually less than half of the €21,000 the landlord was actually claiming via the courts.

“Of course Mr Dembélé earns lots of money but he also has the right to be treated correctly,” said the player’s lawyer, Horst Kletke.

“We’ve made big strides today (with the reduced fine verdict).”

Dembélé is hoping to have recovered from injury in time to face Manchester United in the Champions League on Wednesday.
