🎭 Tale of two teams

North London derbies rarely disappoint and this was just another high octane, talking point-filled clash at Emirates Stadium – but there was more at play.

Arsenal fielded another incredibly young side with four summer signings present, and there was a freshness, an enthusiasm to their tempo that Spurs simply couldn’t handle.

Spurs on the other hand, fielded none of their new faces and continued their worrying slide under Nuno Espirito Santo with another passive performance.

It was a tale of two teams who look to be heading in different directions.

Do Spurs have a Harry Kane problem? After lengthy speculation over the summer and his self-confessed desire to leave – they’re almost stuck with each other now.

Kane will still score goals for this team and keeping him conveyed a strong message to fans, but he seems to be lacking some cutting edge that makes him so clinical.

It was his lazy control that lead to Arsenal scoring their third, he missed an excellent opportunity after ghosting in unmarked and his frustration was clear to see.

Maybe a clean break – where Kane moved onto a new challenge and gifted Spurs a huge transfer fee – was best for everybody.

🧤 Proving people wrong

It’s fair to say that Arsenal’s interest in Aaron Ramsdale raised some eyebrows this summer but it was another assured performance from the young goalkeeper.

Thrown straight into the side by Mikel Arteta, his distribution, penalty box presence and shot stopping already looks better than Bernd Leno who slipped into a malaise.

And can we please talk about that fingertip save to deny Lucas Moura? Full stretch, onto the post and a big shout at his defenders to finish things off. Brilliant.
