John Arne Riise caught out Petr Äech with a well-taken free-kick to open the scoring before GarcĂa raced past Claude MakĂ©lĂ©lĂ© and John Terry to fire in a decisive Liverpool second.
Although Chelsea pulled a late goal back, GarcĂa's heroics booked Liverpool's spot in the 2006 cup final against West Ham, which the Reds won on penalties after a captivating 3-3 draw.
