Yesterday it was revealed that Oscar Bobb has sustained a new injury. Norway manager Ståle Solbakken revealed that the young winger had suffered a minor injury. Oscar Bobb’s season has been ravaged by injury which has seen him only make two substitute appearances for the season since City’s FA Community Shield victory over Manchester United. Instead of this season being the one where Bobb’s breakthrough, it has been a frustrating experience for him.
What wasn’t apparent yesterday was what injury Bobb had sustained. It was revealed by Jack Gaughan of the Daily Mail via his official X account that Bobb has suffered a hamstring injury. Gaughan further reports that Manchester City are hopeful that Bobb can return before the end of this season.
Oscar Bobb’s 24/25 season has never gotten off the ground. From the moment he fractured his leg he has been sidelined. During his comeback from the fractured leg he suffered he sustained another minor injury set back. The young winger had since made two substitute appearances but injury has struck once again. Instead of being his breakout season, the 24/25 season has been a frustrating experience for Bobb. It’s unfortunate as he did appear set for a big 24/25 season based on how he performed during Manchester City’s pre season tour of the United States.
A further update on Oscar Bobb’s status is expected when Pep Guardiola fronts the media later today. But it may be for the best if Bobb and Manchester City write off the 24/25 season and focus on having the young winger fit for the FIFA Club World Cup and next season instead.
