Manchester City will face off against Crvena Zvezda at the Rajko Mitic Stadium this Wednesday evening as they look to secure maximum points on the road in the UEFA Champions League. Defence

Stefan Ortega will feature in goal for Man City as he looks to secure a clean sheet away from home. Nathan Ake will resume his defensive partnership with Josko Gvardiol at the centre of Guardiola’s defence as they focus on keeping the opposition at bay during the game.

Sergio Gomez will fill in as the left-back while Rico Lewis hopes to catch the eye on the other flank as the right-back. Both of them will get the license to get forward and join in on the attack when they can.

Ruben Dias will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.

Midfield

Mateo Kovacic and Kalvin Phillips will anchor the midfield for Man City as they look to dominate possession at the centre of the park. The gifted trio of Jack Grealish, Bernardo Silva and Phil Foden are expected to play just ahead of them as part of Guardiola’s attack. All three of them need to combine well so that they can create enough chances for the visitors to win this clash in midweek.

Rodri and Oscar Bobb will be named on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the second 45 minutes if Guardiola decides to call upon their services.

Attack

Julian Alvarez will once again lead the line for Man City in the final third. He would be eager to find the back of the net versus FK Crvena Zvezda this week.

Both Erling Haaland and Jeremy Doku will be sidelined for this game because of injuries. Hence, Guardiola will be short of offensive options this Wednesday evening.
